AMAP Platform is extending a location service chain already proven in China into global products: data, positioning, search, route planning, navigation guidance, ETA prediction and distance matrices, supported by regional infrastructure.

AMAP Platform now operates a dual-region architecture across Singapore and Frankfurt. Developers can choose a preferred data center based on regional business needs, while EU customer requests and logs can be processed within the EU to support GDPR-oriented workflows and local data residency requirements.

That makes the foundation practical for European logistics, cross-border e-commerce, local services and travel products that need a global location stack with a regional processing path.

Beyond driving, AMAP supports cycling, walking and motorcycle navigation. The route engine accounts for the constraints that shape each mode, from bike lanes and pedestrian crossings to motorcycle access rules, tunnels and bridges.

For pedestrians, that means sidewalks, pedestrian streets, crossings and internal roads can contribute to a route. For cyclists, the route can reflect bike lanes, shared-bike rules and restricted roads. For motorcycle products, access rules and local traffic restrictions become part of the route decision.

Global POIs, address records and road attributes make location responses useful beyond a pin on a map. The data layer includes over 300 million frequently refreshed POIs and 500 million address records worldwide, with multilingual reverse geocoding, autocomplete and richer place details.

Place context can include phone numbers, opening hours, ratings and categories. Underneath, road hierarchy, speed limits, traffic restrictions, turn restrictions, lanes, bridges, tunnels, ferries and one-way roads inform route decisions. ETA prediction combines real-time traffic, holidays and different mobility scenarios, while distance matrices support logistics planning and fleet dispatch.
